Swanson Midgley Welcomes Carlson Kort Attorneys and Staff

Swanson Midgley is pleased to announce that the attorneys and staff of Carlson Kort, L.C. have joined Swanson Midgley effective September 1, 2008. Randal Carlson and Stephen Kort have joined the firm as equity members.
Randal Carlson began his legal career with Swanson, Midgley, Gangwere, Clarke & Kitchin in 1982. His practice at Swanson Midgley will continue in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and taxation. Mr. Carlson also represents individuals and businesses on corporate, partnership and real estate matters.
Stephen Kort has a significant practice representing management in the area of Human Resources Law with 24 years of human resources, employment and traditional labor law experience. Mr. Kort also has considerable experience representing health care and educational institutions. His practice includes litigation in federal and state courts across the country, arbitration, collective bargaining and advisement. Stephen is also an arbitrator and mediator approved by the federal and state courts of Missouri and the federal courts of Kansas.
Patricia Wilson brings more than 30 years of real estate experience to the firm, having represented a broad base of clients, including individuals, trustees, businesses, lenders, and landlords. In addition to her real estate practice at Swanson Midgley, Ms. Wilson will also continue to represent clients on contracts, secured transactions, corporate transactions and zoning, planning and land use.
Jennifer Linscott Danker joins the firm’s Human Resources Law practice area. Ms. Danker represents management in all areas of human resources, employment and traditional labor law. Prior to joining Carlson Kort, Ms. Danker clerked for the Honorable Laura Denvir Stith, Judge at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
Kristi Verna’s practice focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, corporate law and business planning. Ms. Verna joined Carlson Kort in 2005, having clerked for the Honorable Terry R. Means, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas from 2001-2005.
