Swanson Midgley Adopts “Green Policies”
04/29/08
Swanson Midgley, LLC kicked off its “GO GREEN” campaign in January 2008 to minimize its carbon footprint and educate employees on the effects their every day activities have on the environment.
Phase I of the campaign included a comprehensive paper reduction program through printing habits and electronic document storage. This plan also encompassed a reduction in the law library. Over a 12 month period, the library will be reduced by 35% and over a 24 month period, the reduction will extend to 50% of the overall library. To round out this phase, employees were urged to turn off unused equipment and focus on recycling paper, aluminum and plastic bottles at the office and home.
In April 2008, Swanson Midgley, LLC kicked off Phase II of its campaign by eliminating all styrofoam and paper goods, as well as all plastic silverware. The firm now uses only reusable plates, bowls, glasses, cups, and silverware.
Swanson Midgley, LLC will complete its campaign when it relocates at the end of the year and integrates environmentally friendly and energy efficient materials in its new office space. We are proud to be leaders in the green effort and do our part to protect the environment for future generations.
