Three Swanson Midgley attorneys have been recognized as “Super Lawyers of Missouri and Kansas”. Super Lawyers selection process “includes a statewide nomination process, peer review by practice area and independent research on candidates.” Kelly Dean Brende, Swanson Midgley Managing Partner, has been recognized as a rising star which is a list of “the state’s top young attorneys”. John J. Miller has been recognized for the third year as a Super Lawyer in Securities Litigation. Edward M. Dolson has been recognized for the third year as a Super Lawyer in Franchise Law.
Over the past 22 years, John J. Miller has represented hundreds of clients in securities, commercial, and employment litigation and arbitration. He also is an approved mediator under Rule 17 for Missouri state courts, and for the Federal District Courts of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri. Mr. Miller serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the American Arbitration Association.

Kelly helps clients comprehend the complex issues involved in business planning, corporate law, estate planning, taxation, and trust and estate administration through her practical and client-focused approach. Edward M. Dolson focuses his practice in corporate, banking, commercial, and franchise matters and has handled major litigation and appellate work in these areas. He has represented franchisers, franchisees, and other business entities throughout his career. In addition to the recognition in Super Lawyers, Ed has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and the Best of the Bar (selection of the Kansas City Business Journal).
